Queen Bey introduced her new brand, Cécred, in the early morning hours of February 20. Visitors to the brand’s website are welcomed by a personal message from the singer on the story page. The 42-year-old singer shares her reasons for launching the brand, highlighting it as the fulfillment of a “lifelong dream.”
Cécred’s products are formulated with bioactive keratin, honey, and lactobacillus ferment, ingredients chosen for their scalp health benefits, hydrating properties, and ability to strengthen hair from within. This formula is especially targeted at revitalizing weak, damaged, or extensively treated hair.
Currently, Cécred offers its “Foundation Collection”, comprising eight physical products. This selection includes a Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub, Hydrating Shampoo, Moisturizing Deep Conditioner, among other items. Product prices range from $30 to $52, not including gift cards. In an interview with Essence magazine, Beyonce spoke about what the hair care line means to her. “Cécred is a legacy project for me, one that’s probably the most rooted in my ancestry,” she said. “It’s so far beyond business. Hair is our lineage; it’s our family story. Having access to proven ingredients, and creating our own technology that is patent-pending — we now have a line that works universally.”
Cécred is collaborating with Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD foundation to establish the BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund. This initiative aims to nurture entrepreneurship and cultivate talent within the hairstyling industry. The partnership will offer annual scholarships for cosmetology students and provide grants for salon businesses, supporting aspiring professionals and established stylists alike in achieving their dreams.
